Rise

In the winds of vicinity
I lost the essence i was
Building empires of you in me
Proved to be a tremendous task
But i fought for you large and hard
And let me prolong my evolution
Before i reached the point
Where i would find no identification

The war of decades is over now
And i am defeated at last
I see my remains lying in the past
Today i am so not, what i once was
But i grab the last of my hands
In the hopes of a Columbus sail
Now free of you on this land
Am, me with mine, to rise again.
